I didn't understand the email sent a few days ago about 2AR. Is it that the owner wants new partners, and if found, will leave it available to the club?
Who can clarify this?
Mike.

Re: What's up with N172AR
Tue, September 16, 2003 - 9:43 PMI read it as he is pulling the plane one way or the other. They seem to be looking for 2 more people to fly the plane, but don't want it in general circulation of the club. It's a bummer because its been tough to schedule lately and with the new plane I thought the schedule would get a little better. Oh well.

Re: What's up with N172AR
Tue, September 16, 2003 - 9:46 PMHey Mike,
I think the owners are trying to trim their maintenance costs by taking the plane off leaseback, which could free them from having to do 100 hour inspections. As I understand it, they also felt that the plane was being flown so much that it was getting excessive wear and tear.
At any rate, it will no longer be a club plane as of October 1st.

Re: What's up with N172AR
Wed, September 17, 2003 - 2:40 PMThat is one of the tougher aspects of doing a leasback with a plane that hasn't been on a strict maintenance diet before hand is that anything that is close to breaking is going to break. I ran into that with 45H and talking with others they had similar experiences.
