What is your favorite club plane and why?

Just curious which club planes people like to fly the most and why. Here are my thoughts ...

I like 4JG's Garmin 530 and intercom. The extra climb and cruise performance is nice, too.

9UL to me is a stable old friend, though the panel is somewhat lacking and it seems to need a lot of right rudder.

12R is nice because the #1 and #2 radios are consistent and it also has DME, but parts of the interior are a bit sad. It flies relatively straight and doesn't have any bad habits.

4AC has a peculiar left banking tendency when you don't pay attention, but it has a pretty good panel and has certainly become the club's workhorse. I like the way the new seat tracks feel!

05D has great paint and interior and is the staightest flying plane in the club's fleet. I wish it had a PowerFlow exhaust and better radios, but it's still a sweet plane. Can't wait to try out the 2-axis autopilot the next time I fly it.

36B is a fun plane to fly 99% of the time. The other 1% is sheer terror! ;-)

Well I only flew 4AC(45H) while I owned it. I always was annoyed by the left banking trendancy. I had the folks at LVK put a trim tab on it, but Northfield decided that it wasn't regulation and removed it before I sold it to the club. The real solution is to have the thing rigged properly. Anyway, I flew it again earlier this summer and it flew nice as ever. Sure looks better with the nice paint job.

I took 4JG down to So-Cal a month or so back. Nice power and the 530 was fun to play with. I just wish they would have put in an autopilot at the same time, it would really make it a better traveling machine.

I've not flown any of the other planes yet, but the taildragger is calling my name.....

4AC's ailerons are going to be readjusted - they seem to have a slight asymetrical deflection - and that might help the left banking tendency.

The trim tab had to be removed after the club purchased the plane as it was not an approved modification and wasn't legal. We had NFA adjust the angle of incidence on the left and right wings, which helped, but didn't cure the problem. Maybe the aileron adjustment will help.

Hopefully the club we be able to upgrade the interior panels and get rid of all traces of that 1970's lime green color!

The taildragger's engine is in and it was up for a break-in flight yesterday. The new prop is much longer than the old one. Not sure I'd want to attempt a wheel landing now, for fear I might strike the prop.
